Poetry

Joy Rose, of Mother-Rock fame, and I bonded in a writing workshop on the Upper West Side, circa 2003. She had the just started Mamapalooza and a poetry chapbook with writing on Motherhood. In 2004-2005, I nurtured “The Mom Egg,” taking it to the next stage. In 2005, I met Marjorie Tesser at the Bowery Poetry Club and the rest is history. Marjorie took over in 2009 tranforming the Mom Egg into MER, a literary journal featuring Motherhood, Literature & Art.

--Tillie Olsen, Silences, 1978
